First division

New Salamis 0 Omonia 3

An unbelievable shock Champions New Salamis losing their unbeaten record to Omonia who have managed under their new manager Chris Andreou and a new committee behind him to rise from the bare bones four weeks ago when they were left with only four players, no committee and no manager to pull off a great feat.

Chris Andreou has got a brand new squad together who train together every week who will get better for Omonia, I believe this is still work in progress.

New Salamis who were presented with the Championship before the game started were totally surprised from the start Omonia gathered pace and were 2-0 up in no time with goals from Alex Anderson and a Chris Philippou header. The pressure was on the reds who went down to ten men straight after.

They tried to get back in the game but early second half Chris Elia added a third. Omonia still threatened and seem comfortable and even when New Salamis went on the attack they found the Omonia goal keeper Nick Christofi outstanding. Omonia were down to ten men for the last ten minutes when one of their players was sent off.

Anorthosis 3 St Panteleimon 3

Anorthosis were given a life line on Sunday after St Panteleimon can only blame themselves for losing a 3-1 lead and allowing Anorthosis back into the game to draw 3-3.

St Panteleimon led 1-0 then 1-1 then to lead 3-1 then 3-2 and 3-3.

St Panteleimon are now showing they are comfortable in KOPA’s top division and can only get better.

The goal hero for St Panteleimon was Igkli Sevaj with a hat trick Anorthosis goals came from Ioannis Varouxakis 2 and Nektarios.

Livadia 5 Olympia 3

This game, televised by Hellenic TV, was going to determine which team would have the advantage of finishing in second place. Livadia were unbeaten in the last 15 games in all competitions. A real test today and started with a goal from their Captain Elia Katsoloudi provided by a great through ball by the right back Danyal Ali.

Olympia responded well and had three or four good chances to equalised however the Veteran Livadia Goalkepper George Georgiou kept his team in this game. However just before the break Olympia got their equaliser from a header David Lairdi which was deserved.

Second half Livadia played the better football and was rewarded by an excellent goal from their centre back Samir Aailit. A goal he deserved by his impressive performance. With the score at 2-1 again Livadia had most of the possession but gave away a penalty. It was converted by Davis Lairdi and the score 2-2.

This seem to galvanise Livadia and with substitutes made after Lilil Luke Prokopiou suffered an ankle injury Livadia pressed the tired looking Olympia. It was again their captain Elia scoring directly from a corner to make the score

3-2 with 20 minutes to play. After some lovely one touch football Pete Panayiotou found Elia again free in front of goal for his hatrick. His second hatrick in 7 days making the score 4-2 with ten minutes to play. Credit to Olympia who didn't give up and came back with a great goal from their striker David Lairdi to give him a hat trick to make the score 4-3.

By this stage Olympia looked tired and jaded which left Andreas Kyprianou lots of space to fire Livadia's 5th goal of the day from 25 yards out into the top corner. This meant a win for livadia and also five points clear of third place Olympia.

The game finished 5-3 to Livadia taking their unbeaten run to 16 games.

Their next game is the LFA cup final on Sunday 2nd April at 10.30 am at Edgware Town FC -Silver Jubilee Stadium

Townsend Lane

Livadia would welcome everyone's support for their first LFA final.

Second Division

Apoel 3 Maronites 2

Apoel the second division Champions got their trophy presented first thing in the morning from the League Chairman Lakis Chrysostomou and they got off to a good start in their game 1-0 up in no time with a goal from Kyri Georgiou then just before half time Lewis Barclay scored to make it 1-1 half time.

After the break Kyri Georgiou added a second to make it 2-1 but Maronites still fighting came back with a penalty from Tyler Barclay and it took an own goal to give Apoel a win to end an eventful day for them in style.

Komi Kebir 0 Pantel 0

The match resulted in a 0-0 stalemate between these two top second division teams holding onto 2nd and 3rd spot in second the division.

Both teams were strong in midfield and attack but did not create any real chances.

The result meant and other affected scores meant that Pantel are promoted to the first

It's a good start for the Pantel manager Demi Ponnou in his first season as a manager in the KOPA league.

First Division

Omonia 3 Olympia 5

Goals galore at last night’s match at Haringey Borough and there was a good show of people to see this exciting match.

Omonia were coming off a win over the champions New Salamis and Olympia losing to Livadia.

But this time Omonia were slow off the mark and allowed Olympia to lead 3-0 in no time with goals from George Yianni, Ricky Louca and David Lairdi George Yianni’s goal he went along the bye line to stroke the ball home , the second the Omonia keeper came out and the ball went over him and the third a long distance shot.

Omonia were not beaten then came back fighting with a great goal from Alex Anderson a long distance shot. Then it was 3-2 when Chris Philippou scored from the penalty spot.

After the break Ricky Louca added a second making it 4-2 then a great 40 yard shot from Chris Antoniou of Omonia made it 4-3 before George Yianni scored a second for the night to make it 5-3 and a win for Olympia.

Judging from last night’s unusual show of several spectators more so than Sundays games, looks like there be loads of fans at future midweek matches in the coming weeks.
